The shortage of qualified personnel is the main factor constraining this development. To overcome it, authors suggest reviving in the industries the labor training system in the patriotic education context. The vision of how labor training can help Russian mechanical engineering is presented. It is recommended to draw the methodological support of this system from the lessons of the past, in particular from the labor pedagogy by A. K. Gastev, adapting the teachings to modern realities. The labor motivation subsystem is suggested in the labor training system to restrain the outflow of qualified workers abroad. The urgent need in the development of cultural and scientific work of the workers social stratum in Russian society is substantiated, which will contribute to cohesion of the society and its purification from consumerism.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the state and prospects for the development of glass and glass products in the Russian Federation and the possibility of cooperation between the industry and the machine-building complex of Russia, which is not only able to provide import substitution of modern technological equipment for the glass industry, but also to increase the consumption of special-purpose glass by companies producing railway and light rail transport, metro, public passenger transport, as well as specialized equipment (mining, road, construction and other types of engineering products).
The relevance of the research lies in the need to get out of the systemic crisis in which the branches of the construction industry of mechanical engineering found themselves due to the complication of the geopolitical situation and the need to ensure Russia’s technological sovereignty in the near future.
As part of the study, the structure of the Russian glass market was presented, and the possibilities of Russian machine builders who will have to replace Western companies that have left the Russian market were noted. The article pays attention to the problem of organizing waste-free production at enterprises of the glass industry: within the framework of the ESG concept adopted by the Russian Federation for the future until 2050.
The main directions of state support for the construction industry within the framework of the national strategy for the development of housing and civil construction in the near future are presented.
