Attention is focused on the survival problem for modern man in the conditions of the impending digital technocracy. In search of its solutions, the author turned to the doctrine about the scientific labor organization by A.K. Gastev, who investigated this problem in the conditions of production automation. To solve it, Gastev justified the methodology about mechanical dexterity in the context of the movement culture, aiming not only at the professionalism development, but also at the education of the employee and the activation of his creativity. This methodology helps to protect against machine enslavement. Other provisions from the teachings of Gastev are also presented, which can serve as lessons for modernity.
